Overview
The SI is the organization that groups socialist, social democratic and labor parties from all over the world and the PSU is one of the oldest and most important socialist parties in Latin America. In order to facilitate the analysis and presentation of events that occurred over such a long period of time, the work is divided into three parts. [...]a synthesis will be made to point out some trends and offer general conclusions. Al mismo tiempo, el órgano de prensa del PSU, el periódico El Sol, reproducía constantemente debates y noticias de las IS, sobre todo de su Comité asiático, que oficiaba como modelo organizativo para crear uno similar en Latinoamérica.5 Sin embargo, para la IS, América Latina aún no era un espacio prioritario y comunicó que la iniciativa debería ser financiada por los mismos uruguayos.
