Overview
In order to prevent large scale cascading failure, continuous measuring and monitoring of the system in real time is necessary for secure and reliable operation of the interconnected Power Grid system. The actual analog signal has to be sampled to establish the fundamental frequency within a specific frequency zone. With the help of that frequency, the signal is reconstructed at time domain of fundamental frequency tone and dynamic phasors of the system are estimated by using Phasor Measuring Unit. The objective of this paper is to determine proper algorithm of the Phasor Measuring Unit and detection of fault within a specified time when disturbance occurs in the system.
