Overview
This chapter explains the origin of the large‐scale structure of the universe and essential role of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). A scenario how a small quantum seed implanted by the inflaton field has evolved and formed the present structure is described in the framework of nonrelativistic Boltzmann equation. The baryon acoustic oscillation and the Jeans wave length characterizing the gravitational instability are discussed. Finally, it is explained that important cosmological parameters such as the curvature of the universe and the DM/baryon content can be accurately determined by analyzing the WMAP/Planck data.
