Overview
Whitegold: William Cookworthy Celebrations - 1705-2005, an international exhibition, was held at the China Clay Country Park, Carthew, St Austell, Cornwall to celebrate the birth of a British chemist, William Cookworthy in 1705. The manufacture of true porcelain in Britain for the first time was due to Cookworthy's discoveries of clay and china stone in Cornwall in 1746.
