Overview
[Objective] To research the chemical constituents of essential oils from fresh and dry products of Litsea glutinosa ( Lour. ) C. B. Rob. [Method] The essential oils in L. glutinosa were obtained by using steam distillation, and identified by GC-MS. [Result] A total of 33 compounds were identified from the oils of fresh leaves, accounting for 91.01% of the total oils. Among them, the main components were beta -caryophyllene (22.83%), beta -ocimene(7. 19%) , phytol(6.90%) , beta -pinene(6.79%), alpha -pinene(5.97%) , caryophyllene oxide(5.95%) and so on. A total of 42 compounds were identified from the essential oils of dry leaves, representing 93.89% of the total oils. They were mainly the beta -caryophyllene (23.22%) , beta -ocimene (7.78%) , bicyclogermacrene (7.24%) , alpha -caryophyllene (5.89%) , alpha -pinene(5.42%) and so on. Chemical composition analysis of the essential oils showed that there were only 30 common compounds in two kinds of essential oils. [Conclusion] This method was accurate and reliable. This research provided scientific basis for the establishment of quality standard, as well as the further development and utilization of L. glutinosa.
