Overview
A brief report on a tall, slim commercial building by Amano Design Office which is located on a back street in the Ginza district of Tokyo, one block northwest of the famous shopping street of Chuo Dori. The building, which houses barbers and beauty salons among its tenants, has a glass curtain wall and a striking facade of aluminium panels, which are perforated with tiny holes to make up a delicate flower pattern. These panels are then angled and folded into irregular, abstract geometric shapes to create a 'crumple' effect of dramatic lines and shadows.
