Overview
شهدت ليبيا إعلان تأسيس الجمهورية الطرابلسية بتاريخ 16 تشرين الثاني ١٩١٨، بمدينة مسلاته (130 كم شرق طرابلس الغرب)، والتي تمثل تجربة سياسية ريادية على الصعيد العربي، كما تضافرت عوامل عدة أسهمت في إرغام المحتلين الايطاليين على ذلك، في حين تداخلت بتأسيسها عوامل مختلفة داخلية وخارجية، إذ لم يقتصر الإسهام فيها على الليبيين بل ضمت عناصر أخرى، ما جعلها شديدة التنوع والخصوصية جراء الأحداث التاريخية المهمة التي رافقت مسيرتها، تلك التي استمرت حتى استئناف العمليات العسكرية من قبل الايطاليين بتاريخ ٢٦ كانون الثاني 1922.
