لقد أكدت نظريات التحليل النفسي، والنظريات السلوكية، ونظريات التعلم الاجتماعي على أهمية مرحلة الطفولة وأثرها في نمو الشخصية، فقد أكدت النظريات على قابلية الأطفال للتعلم والنمو، وأن خبرات التعلم وأساليبه ومناخه في تلك الفترة لها تأثيرها على تعلم الطفل وتقدمه، فهاد فيلد Had Filed \"يرى أن الطفل في هذه المرحلة يتعلم الكلام ويكتسب اللغة والاحتكاك الاجتماعي بالعالم الخارجي\" ومن هذا المنطلق ركزت في هذه الورقة على تقديم تصور لإعداد معجم يسهم في تنمية الطفل تنمية لغوية، بناء على الدرس المعجمي الحديث، مناقشا أسسه بما يتناسب مع طبيعة الطفل.
