من الصعوبة بمكان، إعطاء صورة دقيقة للدراسات اللغوية الخاصة باللغة العربية، لأن هذا النوع من الدراسات يواجه بعض المعوّقات. وفي المقابل، تعيش الدراسات اللغوية في الفكر الغربي تطوراً ملحوظاً، على هذا الأساس، ترتكز دراستنا على التمييز بين الدراسات اللغوية الحديثة والمعاصرة والدراسات اللغوية لدى العرب خلال الفترة الوسيطة. لذا، سنحاول في هذا المقال عرض اسهامات \"ابن الجنى\" في الدرس اللغوي من خلال كتاب \"الخصائص\".
