يتناول البحث التغير في التركيب العمري وآثاره في العائد الديموغرافي وشيخوخة المجتمع السعودي في المدة (1394 - 1437 هـ) وذلك بالاعتماد على بيانات العمر والنوع للسكان السعوديين المأخوذة من تعدادات السكان والمساكن للأعوام: (1394ه، 1413ه، 1425 ه، 1431ه) إضافة إلى المسوحات الديموغرافية التي أجريت في: (1420ه، 1428ه، 1438ه)، وقاعدة الأمم المتحدة (World Population Prospects)، مستعينا ببعض الأساليب الديموغرافية والإحصائية كالعمر الوسيط ومؤشر العمر، والهرم السكاني، ونسب الإعالة، وموضحا بالخرائط والرسوم البيانية.
