تعد دراسة الشخصيات من الدراسات التي لها أثرا كبيرا في البحوث التاريخية، لما لها من أهمية في إيراد معلومات لا نجدها في روايات التاريخ العام، مما يعطي الباحثين تنوعا معلوماتينا يساعدهم في رسم الخطوط العامة لسير بعض الأحداث، وشخصية بهرام جور موضوع البحث من الشخصيات التي دار حولها جدال واسع بين المصادر العربية والفارسية، وكلا تنازع فضائله ومناقبه، فجاءت معالم سيرته مزدوجة التصوير بين ما يراه العرب والفرس، ومن هنا جاء سبب اختيارنا لهذا الموضوع، الذي امتد منذ ولادته إلى وفاته، وقد اعتمدت فيها على مجموعة من المصادر الأولية وعدد من المراجع الثانوية.
