Overview
The research aimed to identify the effect of Student teachers beliefs' about, the nature of teaching and its effect on their teaching practices. The nature of teaching aimed to be identified includes direct transmission (traditional teaching) and constructivist teaching. The study is expected to answer the main question: (What do student teachers in Najran University think about teaching in light of \"direct transmission (traditional teaching) and constructivist teaching\"?). A number of sub-questions arise from this main question. The descriptive approach was used .Tools were represented in a questionnaire consists of two parts .Part (1) concerned with students only , part (2) for both students and their supervisors .The sample of the students was randomly selected (n= 90) from among those who registered for field training for the second semester (1439-1440),supervisors(n=10). The findings indicate that: Student teachers believe in constructivism thoughts but their teaching practices are closely related to direct transmission or traditional teaching, while their mentors view them as direct transmission (traditional) practitioners. Based on the results, some recommendations and proposals were submitted.
