حاولت الورقة البحثية الراهنة الإجابة على مجموعة من التساؤلات حول العلاقة بين إدمان وتعاطي المخدرات واضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة. وذلك عن طريق محاولة التعرف على طبيعة المواقف الصادمة التي تؤدى إلى التعاطي والإدمان. وفى هذا السياق تعرض الورقة البحثية لأهم أسباب التعاطي والإدمان، ومفهوم اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة، وأهم أعراضه، والأسباب المؤدية إليه، والاستجابة للأحداث الصدمية، وأهم معايير تشخيص اضطراب ضغوط ما بعد الصدمة.
