Overview
أثرت مجموعة من العوامل السياسية على مسار العلاقات الاقتصادية العراقية- التركية، إذ سعت تركيا جاهدة من أجل تأمين مورد النفط العنصر الأساس لسير عجلة اقتصادها، كونها تفتقر له، وشكل امتلاك العراق لثروة النفط والغاز الطبيعي مدعاة لاهتمام تركيا، إذ عد أنبوب النفط الممتد من حقول كركوك إلى ميناء جيهان المطل على البحر المتوسط مشروعا اقتصاديا واستراتيجيا كونه يوفر لها موردين اقتصاديين، الأول رسوم الترانزيت، والثاني ضمان حصولها على النفط الخام للاستخدام الداخلي بثمن رخيص مقارنة مع بقية الدول، لشمولها بميزة نسبة أفضلية استخدام بلغت (40%) من كمية النفط العراقي المار خلال أراضيها.
