تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إلقاء الضوء على كيفيات ووسائل صناعة الكتاب في الأندلس خلال الفترة الأموية، والتي عرفت خلال هذا العصر بصنعة الوراقة، وإبراز دور هذه الفئة من خدمة الحركة العلمية والفكرية التي لم تنل حقها من التقدير، وهذا من خلال البحث في كتب تراجم الرجال والطبقات والأعلام ومختلف المصادر التاريخية المعاصرة، من أجل تتبع ظهور هذه الصنعة في المشرق وانتقالها إلى الأندلس، ومنهج العمل المتبع من خلالها، وأصناف المشتغلين بها ودور الوراقة في النهضة العلمية والفكرية بالأندلس.
