Overview
The study dealt with the effect of regional labour analgesia on labour progress and its outcome. This study aimed to provide the different techniques of regional analgesia available, to understand the drugs used, dosages and adverse effect and to detect their effect on labour progress. The study design was descriptive cross sectional study, conducted in Algemaa, Dream and Alsahaa laboring ward, from March 2016 - March 2018, the convenience sampling technique was used to lay down the sample which it was 25 laboring women. Data was collected by using structured questionnaire and analyzed by using Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS version 20).Twenty-five labouring women were assigned in the study, 76% of the cases were used epidural top ups technique and the rest were used intrathecal opioid. The common mode of delivery was vaginal delivery, in 95% of cases the placenta delivered within 10-20 min. 88% of deliveries were without any complication. From the study there is no effect from regional labour analgesia on labour progress and its outcome.
