Overview
عني هذا البحث بترجمة تقرير من التقارير البريطانية عن تاريخ الجزيرة العربية الحديث، وهو ما يعد مصدرا مهما من مصادر التاريخ السياسي والديني والاجتماعي والاقتصادي لدول الجزيرة العربية، وأعد هذا التقرير (كونلييف أوين Cunliffe Owen) الذي كان عضوا من أعضاء البعثة البريطانية إلى نجد عام 1917م التي أرسلت لتعزيز موقفها في الحرب ضد العثمانيين، والتحقق من موقف الملك عبد العزيز من ذلك، والسعي إلى كسب انحيازه معهم ليقوى بذلك موقفهم في نجد والخليج العربي، ويضمنوا بهذا بقاء مصالحهم التجارية في المنطقة وسلامة امتدادها إلى الهند، وقد ثبت في التقرير حياد الملك عبد العزيز من حربهم مع حرصه على إقامة العلاقات السياسية مع بريطانيا.
