Overview
لقد دخل العراق بعد ثورة ١٤ تموز ١٩٥٨ مرحلة جديدة تختلف اختلافاً جذرياً عن المرحلة السابقة، وعليه فان السياسة الخارجية العراقية قد اختلفت عن سياسته في العهد المالكي. فقد جاء موقفه في العهد الجمهوري بتبني سياسة تقدمية جديدة قائمة على أساس التوجه القومي ومساندة حركات التحرر العربي في كافة المجالات المادية والعسكرية والثقافية والإعلامية، ومن خلال ما أعلن من تصريحات للزعيم عبد الكريم قاسم، وأدانته للاستعمار وتأييده للحركات ومن هذا المنطلق اثبت بان عبد الكريم قاسم كان قوميا بامتياز ولم يكن شعوبياً كما اتهمه البعض.
