Overview
لم تعد الحرب في الوقت الراهن مجرد حرب تقليدية واضحة المعالم والأدوات، وإنما باتت خليطا من توظيف كافة الأدوات المتاحة، التقليدية وغير التقليدية، في ظل تحول تكنولوجي هائل غير كثيرا من المفاهيم السائدة عن الحرب والصراع والردع، بحيث أضحى الملمح البارز للحرب هو تطورها المستمر، والذي انعكس في أجيالها المختلفة-خمسة أجيال لحد الآن. بناء عليه، تهدف هذه الورقة لاستكشاف تطور ظاهرة الحرب، والبحث في العوامل والمحددات التي أسهمت في بروز أجيالها الخمس. لتخلص الورقة في الأخير إلى أن الطبيعة المتغيرة لمجالات الصراع، الخصوم، الأهداف، والقوة كانت السبب وراء تطور الحرب من جيلها الأول إلى جيلها الخامس.
