يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة إحدى روميات أبي فراس الحمداني (320-357 ه) أحد شعراء الشام في العصر العباسي للوقوف على مآثر الفارس والشاعر العربي الذي أدى رسالته في سبيل الحفاظ على شرف العروبة ومكانة الإسلام، واستعراض لأجمل ما جاء فيها من المزايا والشمائل العربية والمثل العليا من فروسية وشجاعة وتضحية وإباء وكرم وسماحة أخلاق، وعفة نفس وصبر على المكاره.
