إن موضوع الدراسة (التحليل العروضي للنصوص الأدبية الأكدي) هو أحد المواضيع المهمة التي لم تتطرق إليه الدراسات الأثرية قبل هذه الدراسة إلا النزر اليسير جدًا وبعض الإشارات التي وردت بين ثنايا بعض البحوث والكتب المتخصصة بدراسة النصوص الأدبية مثل الأساطير والملاحم وأدب الرثاء والقصص والأمثال وغيرها من صنوف الأدب، وسلطت الدراسة على اختيار نماذج من تلك النصوص الأدبية لتكون محور التحليل العروضي الخاص بالشعر الأكدي واستخراج البحور الشعرية التي بنيت عليها القصيدة الشعرية.
