Overview
ترفض بعض الأرشيفات ضم الأشياء المادية المتعلقة بالوثائق، وغالبا ما يتم فصل الأشياء المادية عن الوثائق رغم أن تلك الأشياء قد تكون سببا في نشأة الوثائق وجزءا من سياق الوثيقة، وقد تعد الأشياء من علامات الصحة والإثبات للوثائق مثل الأختام. ويتناول البحث مفهوم الأشياء المادية وطبيعتها ودواعي حفظها في الأرشيف، كما يتناول العمليات الفنية التي يجب أن تتم على الأشياء المادية سواء حفظت داخل الأرشيف أو خارجه. وأكد البحث على ضرورة التكامل بين مؤسسات التراث الثقافي المادي وغير المادي.
