يروم هذا البحث تعريف الألغاز مع بيان مصطلحاتها وبعض الفنون التي دخلت فيها، مع إبراز عناية قراء الغرب الإسلامي بالألغاز القرائية؛ خصوصا في القرن الحادي عشر وما بعده، ثم ختم البحث بجمع الألغاز القرائية الواردة في كتاب الفجر الساطع والضياء اللامع في شرح الدرر اللوامع لابن القاضي المكناسي (المتوفى 1082هـ).
