تبوأت الإبل والخيل والحمير مكانة متقدمة في نقوش ورسوم مجتمع الصفويين، واعتمدوا على هذه الحيوانات في التنقل من مكان إلى آخر، كما حملوا الأمتعة والبضائع عليها، وحظيت بمنزلة كبيرة في حضارتهم؛ دلنا عليها أسماء وأوصاف تلك الحيوانات في نقوشهم، ورسومهم التي تعنى بذكرها والتي لا تخلو منها منطقة من مناطقهم، وصورت لنا النقوش، والرسوم المذكورة عمق العلاقة بين الصفويين، وتلك الحيوانات. وإن كان للإبل والخيل أهمية كبيرة في النواحي الاقتصادية، والعسكرية في المجتمع الصفوي.
