Overview
يسرد هذا المقال حالة الأودك بجنوب النيل الأزرق بين عامي 1966 عندما التقيت بهم أول مرة، وما وصل إليه حالهم عام 2006 عند زيارتي الثانية لهم، وما حدث لهم عبر هذه السنين. يدخل هذا المقال في إطار \"السرد الوصفي\" تبعا لـــــــ \"المنهج الإثنوجرافي\". تحدث المقال عن الجوانب المهمة في حياة هذه المجموعة الإثنية (التركيبة الاجتماعية، وسبل كسب العيش، والعادات والتقاليد، وغيرها). كان الأودك في كلتا الزيارتين يعانون من كل أوجه التخلف والتهميش، ويفتقدون إلى أبسط الخدمات من تعليم وصحة. ثم تفاقمت معاناتهم باندلاع الحرب الأهلية وانضمامهم إلى الحركة الشعبية في مطلع ثمانينات القرن الماضي، ثم قادهم تجدد الحرب في 2011 إلى معسكرات اللاجئين في جنوب السودان. لقد بدأوا الآن في العودة الطوعية إلى ديارهم، وحالهم يكاد يكون أسوا مما كان عليه في عام 1966.
