Overview

This study highlights the importance of the economic diversification in the development of public revenues, especially the regular taxation, regarding the strong correlation between the tax system and the economic system. It also stresses its reflection on strengthening the diversification of the public revenue structure, and then abandoning the oil-dependent public expenditure policy in Algeria. According the 2001-2017 study results, there is a strong relation between the level of economic diversification, which is controlled by oil sector, and the structure of public expenditure. Moreover, the policy of public spending is still financially subject to oil revenues. In the recent years, the raise in the incomes is due to the raise in some fees and licenses, not as a result to the expansion of the tax base. This reflects to which extend is the cotemporary economic structure is diverse.
