يعرف الشباب مكانة خاصة في المجتمع المعاصر، ولعل من بين أسباب هذه الظاهرة هو التأثير الشامل الذي أصبح للشباب في كافة نظم المجتمع، بحيث أصبح الانشغال بقضايا الشباب هو تعبير عن الاهتمام بمستقبله، ولعل السبب الرئيسي لمثل هذا الاهتمام راجع أساسا إلى ما يمثله الشباب للمجتمع، إذ هي الشريحة اجتماعية تشغل وضعا متميزاً في بيئة المجتمع.
