Overview
يتناول هذا البحث التصوف في دراسات المستشرقين. وتدور مشكلته أهمية الوقوف على حقيقة عناية المستشرقين واهتممتهم بالتصوف، التي بدأت منذ القرن التاسع عشر الميلادي. وعليه فإن هذا البحث يستهدف التعرف على عناية المستشرقين بالتصوف وموقفهم من تعريف التصوف ونشأته. وتحليل حقيقة موقفهم من عقائد الصوفية. والكشف عن مدى عنايتهم بمؤلفات التصوف ورموزه. ولتحقيق هذه الأهداف تم استخدام المنهج التحليلي، الذي يقوم على: التفسير، والنقد، والاستنباط. ومن أبرز النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث: أن المستشرقين بدأوا منذ وقت مبكر (أوائل القرن 19 م) في بحث التصوف والاهتمام به، وكان أول كتاب صدر لهم عن التصوف في عام 1821 م. وأن المستشرقين لهم قدم السبق في تحقيق ونشر تراث التصوف. وأن عناية المستشرقين بالتصوف ليست (في غالبها) علمية بحته، وإنما تندرج تحت خدمة الأهداف الغربية.
