يهتم عالم الثقافة والإعلام والسياسة اليوم بالحديث المستمر عن حقوق الإنسان التي أصبحت مادة دراسية تدرس منذ الصغر ويطرح فيها الأنموذج الغربي عبر القانون الدولي الإنساني، وشرعة حقوق الإنسان وميثاق الأمم المتحدة؛ ويتم تغييب الأنموذج الإسلامي الحضاري بوعي وعن قصد بغرض إخفاء بل تشويه أنموذج الدولة الإسلامية في عصورها المختلفة بوصفها دولة رعت وحمت حقوق الناس وأمنتهم عن حياتهم وعقائدهم وممتلكاتهم؛ فكان لا بد من دراسة حالة حقوق الإنسان في عصور عاش بها الإسلام أزهى وأرقى حضاراتهم في حين كان الغرب يعيش الظلم والإقطاع والتخلف الحضاري. تناول البحث معنى حقوق الإنسان لغةً واصطلاحاً وتحدث عن حقوق الإنسان في الإسلام عموماً وفي العصرين الأموي والعباسي على وجه الخصوص.
