Overview
Twenty-four (24) samples of gum Arabic Acacia Senegal L, wild (raw) collected from north and west Kordofan State, sandy soils, season 2011. 5,7,10,15, and 20 years of tree ages. Samples gathered, mixed, then sorted by color to four (4) categories, Mixed, Glassy, Pink and Reddish, to obtain fine powder particles For more purification and to remove any impurities barks, sand, filths or any other contaminants. Samples were then dissolved by distilled water and filtered with Buchner funnel under vacuum pump by filter paper no: 1. The four samples dried to different temperatures 50,55,60,65,80 and °C at 16,18,20 and 24 hrs in the drying (fan) oven. The particle size of nodule samples was reduced to pass 0.5 mm, mesh screen-in vitro at 30 C°. Then weighed after each process to have the original wt 9.945 g (10g - 0.055 g impurities). The samples were then kept in tight glasses container for further analysis. The optimum useful procedure found is, 10% conc, and 55°C degrees for 24 hrs time, to obtain the dry original 10 gm sample weight. Comparing moisture content, pH, Electric conductivity, viscosity, specific gravity, specific optical rotation, refractive index, and apparent color, similar characteristics and properties were obtained with 99.45% purity, with no significant differences to the original samples. At last loss wt of impurities and combined colloids was determined which found is about 0.55% in average, as mean of the triplicate tests of the four samples.
