Overview
كانت مكة في عصر قبل الإسلام عبارة عن مدينة صغيرة تقع في واد جاف تحيط بها الجبال من كل جانب ثم توافد إليها الناس وبدأوا بالاستقرار بها بعد أن رفع النبي إبراهيم (عليه السلام) وابنه إسماعيل (عليه السلام) قواعد البيت الحرام وتعد مكة من الحواضر العربية المهمة في التاريخ العربي والإسلامي من حيث موقعها الجغرافي لقد ركز البحث على موقع مكة في إقليم الحجاز وتضاريسها من حيث الجبال والهضاب فيها، وثم سلط الضوء على الأسباب والعوامل التي أدت إلى نشأة هذه الحاضر لاسيما العامل الديني التي يعد عاملا رئيسا في نشأتها. وتناول البحث مدى نجاح أهل مكة في استغلال مكانتهم الدينية والتجارية في أقامه علاقات داخلية وخارجية خاصة مع القبائل العربية من حولهم وعلاقاتهم مع الدول المجاورة.
