تهدف هذه الورقة العلمية إلى معالجة ظاهرة الألم المزمن من منظور ثلاث أبعاد فلسفية هي: المكان، الزمان والهوية في تأرجح بين الذاتي والموضوعي على اعتبار أن الألم المزمن يشكل تركيب ونسيج جد معقد، الدارس له يجده بعيد عن كونه فقط مجرد أثر عضوي بحث، بل هو مزيج تفاعل ديناميكي من ذات الفرد المتفاعلة مع المكان الذي تشغله ويشغلها وفق مدركات وأبعاد غير تلك التي عند الإنسان غير المتألم، وتفاعل مع الزمان وفق ساعات ودقائق وحتى أيام غير التي هي محسوسة عندنا، كل ذلك يشكل له هوية مزدوجة واحدة ضعيفة في مواجهة المرض وأخري تصارع طواحين الهواء هوية لذات أطاح الألم بعنفوانها وأمالها.
