Étude des Esthétiques Paratextuelles et des Notions d'Incipit et de Clôture dans « Frontières » de Sylvie Brunel

Overview

In our research we will be interested in studying the elements that surround and extend the novel \"Frontières\" written by Sylvie BRUNEL. In our analysis, we will follow Gérard GENETTE's theory to carry out the study of these paratextual elements which contain, among other things, the title, the preface, the illustrations, etc., which ensure the existence of the novel and assume the role of its presentation to the public. In the course of this research, we will try to prove how these elements located at the threshold of the text contribute to a better understanding of the literary work. We will also highlight their role in preparing for its reception. In addition, this study will highlight two other notions no less important than the paratext and strongly linked to its interpretation, namely: the incipit and the closure. This is done by analyzing each of these elements and clarifying its importance in highlighting the message that the writer wanted to clarify. Through the choice of the romantic form, BRUNEL launches a violent diatribe against the excesses of certain humanitarian organizations animated by the sole lure of profit, regardless of the fate of their beneficiaries.
