Overview
تهدف الدراسة إلى كشف النقاب عن حقيقة الدور الديني لأولفيلاس بين قبائل القوط، فمن المعروف تاريخيا أنهم عرفوا المسيحية على المذهب الأريوسي عن طريق المبشر الديني أولفيلاس، ولكن بعد البحث والتدقيق التاريخي لأحداث تلك الأمة أتضح أن الديانة المسيحية كانت موجودة بالفعل بينهم قبل عصر أولفيلاس، وإن كانت قد شقت طريقها إلى تلك القبائل في ظروف بالغة الصعوبة؛ وذلك لارتباطها بالظروف السياسية، ومع ذلك فقد أشتهر أولفيلاس خلال القرن الرابع الميلادي بأنه المخلص لقبائل القوط من الوثنية، وأنه صاحب الفضل في ذلك التحول، وذلك بفضل فصاحته وتأثيره عليهم.
