Overview
إن أهم ما يميز العلاقة بين الدولتين الفاطمية والأموية هو الصراع الذي نشب بينهما من أجل السيطرة على المسالك التجارية، والسيطرة على الطريق البري الغربي الذي يربط بلاد السودان بالمغرب الأقصى، حيث كانت هنالك طرق برية عديدة تكمن أهميتها في المجال التجاري، الأمر الذي جعلها محط أنظار الدولتين للسيطرة عليها، كما امتاز هذا الصراع بنوع من التذبذب، مما جعله صراعاً \"مستمراً\" ويتمثل الجانب الاقتصادي أحد عوامل هذا الصراع.
