Overview
تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إلقاء الضوء على رحلات المستشرق الألماني هيرمان بورشارت إلى اليمن؛ نظراً لأهميتها الكبيرة في حفظ التراث اليمني، فقد اعتنى بورشارت بتوثيق انطباعاته ومشاهداته عن جوانب التراث والموروث الحضاري المتنوع لليمن، وذلك من خلال الصور الفوتوغرافية التي تظهر حسه الإثنوغرافي، وتتميز هذه الصور بنقائها وجودتها، وتعد الأقدم من نوعها بالجزيرة العربية، وتكشف لنا عن الحالة السياسية التي كانت عليها اليمن، وشكل العمارة وأنواعها ومميزاتها الفريدة، وهذه الصور من الأهمية بمكان؛ لأنها ترصد الوضع الأصلي الذي كانت عليه العمائر خاصة بعد تعرض كثير منها للهدم والتجديدات التي غيرت معالمها.
