يتناول المقال دور الرحالة المغاربة في كتابة تاريخ الشام خلال القرنين 17م و18م (رحلة أبو سالم عبد الله العياشي 1037- 1090ه/ 1628- 1679م ورحلة أبو القاسم الزياني 1147- 1248ه/ 1734- 1834م) حيث تطرقنا من خلاله إلى تطور الرحلة تاريخيا وترجمة لأصحاب الرحلة وأهم تصانيفهم ومسار رحلتهم نحو المشرق، وتم طرح مجموعة من التساؤلات التالية منها: كيف صورت كتابات المغاربة واقع البلاد المشرقية في المجالات المختلفة؟ وما هي مواقفهم من المشاهدات خلال رحلاتهم؟
