Overview
This study explores the impact of corporate governance commitment on the development of information systems and the enhancement of strategic decision-making in small enterprises after the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors explain that the pandemic created unprecedented challenges for small businesses, highlighting the urgent need for effective information systems that enable risk management and agile decision-making. The paper argues that adherence to governance principles-transparency, accountability, and fairness-improves the flow and credibility of information within organizations, which positively affects strategic choices. Field research conducted on a sample of small enterprises revealed that those applying strong governance standards were better able to respond to sudden changes and balance continuity with adaptability, while businesses neglecting governance faced difficulties in resource management and decision effectiveness. The study concludes that embedding corporate governance principles is essential to improving information system efficiency and strengthening small enterprises' ability to craft successful strategic decisions, especially in volatile environments following a global health crisis.
