Overview
تعتبر جزيرة أرمنت من الجزر الرسوبية قديمة النشأة في قطاع إسنا - نجع حمادي، فقد ظهرت في خرائط الحملة الفرنسية (۱۷۹۷- ۱۸۰۱)، وهي تقع في منتصف مجري نهر النيل إلى الجنوب من مدينة الأقصر، وتبعد عنها مسافة ٨,٥ كم، وبذلك تحتل بداية الطرف الجنوبي من ثنية قنا الشهيرة. وقد اتضح من التحليل الجيومورفولوجي تغير أبعادها المورفومترية في المدة (۱۸۰۰ - ۲۰۱۹م)؛ نتيجة عمليات النحت والارساب، فقد زادت مساحتها بمقدار ١٤٫٣% في الفترة (۱۸۰۰- ١٩٠٦)، ثم زادت بمقدار ۲۲٫۲% في الفترة (۱۹۰٦- 1934)، ووصلت مساحة الجزيرة 3.1 كم 2 عام ۲۰۱۹ م. كما اتجه طول الجزيرة نحو الزيادة بصفة عامة، فقد زاد طولها في المدة (۱۹۹۱-۲۰۱۹) نحو 1 كم، أي زادت خلال ٢٨ سنة بمعدل قدره ٣٤,٥ متر سنويا. وبدراسة معدلات النحت والارساب، اتضح سيادة عمليات الارساب، وبلغت المساحة المضافة للجزيرة في المدة (1906- ۲۰۱۹) نحو ۱۳۸۰,۹ ألف م 2، مقابل ٢٠٥,٨ ألف م 2 لعملية النحت، أي أن هناك نحو ١١٥٧,١ ألف م 2 من الأراضي المضافة للجزيرة طيلة هذه الفترة.
