تناول هذا البحث موضوع التحقيق الأصولي باعتبار منهجاً، من خلال بيان مفهومه، وأهميته، وضوابطه، واستتبع ذلك الكلام عن المنهج ومفهومه، وأهمية المنهج الأصولي، والألفاظ ذات الصلة بالتحقيق الأصولي، وأركانه التي ينبني عليها، وخلصت هذه الدراسة إلى أن منهج التحقيق الأصولي هو المنهج البحثي العلمي الذي اعتمد عليه المحققون من علماء أصول الفقه في تقرير مسائل هذا العلم، وبيان قواعده، وإقامة البراهين على صحة أحكامه، ورد الشبهات والقوادح عن قضاياه بطرق ومسالك يظهر أثرها في محله، واعتبار منهج التحقيق الأصولي هو قاعدة العلوم ومنهج المناهج الذي تميز به الفكر الإسلامي عموماً، والأصولي منه خصوصاً.
