تعددت مصادر ومسببات الضوضاء في مصر القديمة ما بين الآلهة عندما تصعد إلى السماء أو ترسل رسلها وما بين المتوفي عندما تصعد روحه أو يمتلك القوة السحرية، وبعض آلهة وحراس العالم الأخر، مثل آلهة العقاب والثعابين بل والمتوفي أيضا يثير الضوضاء سواء بصعوده للسماء أو نزوله على الأرض أو حتى امتلاكه القوة السحرية هذا بجانب بعض العوامل التي تؤدي إلى الضوضاء مثل المرض كسبب للضوضاء الغضب أو الظلم أو الخوف أو الفقر والكد والتعب وغيرها.
