هدفت الدراسة إلى الوقوف على دور المجاز فى بناء النص اللغوي عن طريق إثباته بوصفه جوهراً لا عرضا، جاء ذلك من خلال تتبع تحولاته في البنية النصية والمجتمعية، ومحاولة إثبات كونه بنية أساسية لا تزيينية تحسينية. أكد ذلك إجراء تطبيقي لنصوص قرآنية لا يمكن حملها على غير البنية المجازية بما برز فيها من دلائل وقرائن، من هنا سعت الدراسة لتلمس القيمة العظمى التي يحملها المجاز في ثناياه بما يوفر من مستويات لغوية تفتقر إليها اللغة في درجة الصفر.
