رصدت الكاتبة العربية واقع المجتمع الذي تحيا فيه بكل جزئياته انطلاقا من إبرازها لظاهرة العنف ضد المرأة بعد تزايدت حدتها، وبات من الضروري التطرق إليها. وتسلط دراستنا الضوء على سلطة الرجل وهيمنته المتوارثة على الأنثى في ظل مجتمع ذكوري يتخذ من العنف، والتمييز الجنسي والتحقير مرتكزات للتواصل والحوار مع الطرف الثاني الأقل قوة وقبولا.
