Overview
في التاريخ التركي، كانت هناك انتصارات عظيمة قلبت مجرى الأحداث لصالح الأتراك، وكذلك هزائم ثقيلة حولتها ضدهم وخير مثال على ذلك، معركة كوسه داغ (٦٤١ هـ/ ١٢٤٣ م) التي غيرت مجرى التاريخ التركي وحددت مصير دولة سلاجقة الروم، وكما هو معروف، فقد شنت هذه المعركة لوقف الغزو المغولي، ومع ذلك، أسفرت هذه المعركة عن هزيمة فادحة للجيش السلجوقي، لذلك عمل كبار رجال الدولة على إصلاح ما أفسدته الهجمات المغولية وما سببته من خراب، إلا أنه بعد تلك الهزيمة المذكرة تم تحول تام في تاريخ آسيا الصغرى تحول لا عودة منه إذ أصبحت دولة سلاجقة الروم تابعة للمغول، ورغم أن دولة سلاجقة الروم حافظت على وجودها إلا أن المغول كانوا ينتظرون مثل السيف النزول على رأس دولة سلاجقة الروم.
