Overview
تتناول الدراسة أزمة السفينة المصرية \"نجمة أسوان\" والتي ثارت مع بداية عام ١٩٥٦م، والتي أشعلت الصراع الحزبي داخل البرلمان الكندي، ويدخل هذا البحث في إطار الصراع المصري الإسرائيلي، وسباق التسليح بين القاهرة وتل أبيب، وبصفة خاصة بعدما أصبحت كندا، أحد أهم مصادر التسليح للعدو الصهيوني، وكانت أتاوا قد حاولت الظهور بمظهر الدولة المحايدة، ومن ثم وافقت على تصدير عدد محدد من المعدات العسكرية إلى القاهرة في ديسمبر ١٩٥٥، وقد أثار تسليم تلك المعدات لمصر عاصفة من الاعتراضات داخل البرلماني الكندي غذتها كل من السفارة الإسرائيلية، واللوب الصهيوني في كندا، مما كان سببا في اشتعال أزمة السفينة \"نجمة أسوان\".
