تكشف هذه الدراسة عن ظاهرة البغاء في شوارع الدار البيضاء، وهي دراسة تتبع تحليلا نقديا لأحد تجليات الإقصاء الرمزي الذي تعيشه النساء اللواتي يمتهن حرفة البغاء، في مجتمع يعرف تغيرات وتحولات كثيرة. يحضر البغاء في هذه الدراسة كــ ((مؤشر دال على الجنس، وهو يكشف القناع عن عمق التمييز بسبب الجنس في عالمنا، وعن العلاقات الثنائية بين الرجال والنساء)) (ص 11). كما تكشف الدراسة عن أهمية الجنس كعمل قائم بذاته، وكاستراتيجية، بالنسبة إلى العاملات في هذا المجال.
