يهدف البحث إلى الكشف عن حساب الجمل أو التأريخ الشعري بين العربية والعبرية، من خلال مقارنة الحروف والأعداد. والتركيز على حساب الجمل في اللغتين، واستمراريته في العبرية وتطوره، حتى بات مستعملا في العبرية في أمور حياتهم حتى الآن، والبرمجية التي حملت فكرته في العبرية، وترقيم أصحاحات التوراة وأجزائها، أما في العربية فقد استقلت بأرقام خاصة بها تسمى الأرقام العربية، بالإضافة إلى توظيف حساب الجمل في الشعر والنثر، إمعانا في الدقة في النقل والتمحيص في الرواية التاريخية.
