Overview
إن مهمة المؤرخ خطيرة ليست بالأمر الهين، ولاسيما إن صاحبها تحليل للحوادث التاريخية فمن المؤرخين من يتصف بالموضوعية، والأمانة، والدقة، فيستقصي الكتابات التاريخية، ويحيط بها إحاطة واعية مدركه فيضع الأمور في نصابها الصحيح، وبعضهم من يتأثر بالثقافات السائدة وبتوجهات فكرية معينة مما يعرض المادة التاريخية لخطر عدم الدقة، والأمانة، والانحراف عن منهجية البحث التاريخي، ويكون الضرر أشد إن كان للكاتب أو للمؤرخ منزلة علمية؛ لذا ولأهمية ذلك وقع الاختيار على أحد أهم المؤرخين المصريين المحدثين، والذي كان له نتاج متنوع وكبير في التاريخ الإسلامي عبد المنعم ماجد من أجل تقويم ما كتبه.
