Overview
يمتلك العالم كميات كبيرة من مخزونات الغاز الطبيعي أخذت دورها كمصدر مهم بعد الأزمة النفطية في عام 1973، إذ توجهت الأنظار إلى هذا المورد وفتحت التكنلوجيا أفاق جديدة له ليأخذ مكانة مميزة بين بقية أنواع الطاقة وخاصة الأحفورية منها، وقد تزايدت أهميته خلال العقود الماضية ليتجاوز وقود الفحم وينافس النفط بعد أن توصل العلم إلى وسائل حديثة في الاستخراج والنقل والصناعة، وفتحت مجالا اقتصاديا أوسع للبلدان ذات الاحتياطات الكبيرة على الصعيد المحلي والخارجي.
