سلط المقال الضوء على جميل صدقي الزهاوي. هو شاعر عراقي اهتم بقضايا المرأة بالتشابه مع قاسم أمين، إلا أن قاسم أمين كان أكثر فهمًا وأشد عمقًا في تحليله للموضوع، ومثلما تعرض قاسم أمين لضروب من المضايقات، تعرض الزهاوي، فلم تكد تصدر المقالة في مصر حتى تتناقلها الأفواه في العراق. كما أشار إلى زيارة مجموعة من الشباب لمنزلة فلما سألهم عن حاجتهم أجابوه أنهم يريدون أن يتزوجوا حليلته حتى يحققوا رؤيته حين أنكر على الرجل أن يتزوج بأربع نساء ويظلم المرأة حين يحبسها على رجل واحد، وعلى الرغم من محاولات الزهاوي للتنصل من مقاله إلا أننا نجد أنه ثبت على رأيه بعد ذلك، فالذي يقرأ ديوانه المطبوع عام (1924)، يجد عدة قصائد في المرأة كلها تدور حول تمسكه بهذا الرأي. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2024
